Spotlight on Teapots

YES! Time for a Spotlight on my Teapots! I am still on a high because I won the Toy Story category at the Sydney Teapot Show at Gallery Lowe and Lee. I attended the opening and the exhibition is amazing. It runs until 3rd of November. Visiting Sydney? Go see it, there are so many wondrous works! This is my winning entry, Jacques (In the Box) and Flo which was entered in the Natural World category. Flo was inspired by the beautiful striations in the landscape, so to reflect this, the teapot was made from Red Earth clay and fired in reduction to give the iron-bearing clay a gorgeous metallic lustre. If you’d like to buy either of these teapots you can contact the gallery info@gallerylnl.com.au

Special gift with every teapot

I admit, I am a super productive little potter and I have a satisfying collection of one of a kind teapots in stock at the moment. But I create them not sit on my shelves – I made them for you to buy, use and love. So enjoy browsing my current range because there’s a sweet little bonus for you. If you purchase between now and the end of November, I will gift wrap it for that special someone AND throw in a surprise gift just for you! Consider it an early Christmas present.

May pottery news

The recent TMAC Open Studios in May 2023 was a great success and a wonderful chance to talk to artists and buy local handmade art. PJ Pottery had a display at a group exhibition at The Art Post Gallery

I am stoked that several of my unique Steampunk teapot creations have went to new homes over the weekend. There are now some fresh new one-of-a-kind teapots available in my SHOP like these two beauties, Bertrand and Lucille.

The PJ Pottery home gallery has had a HUGE make-over and we will be hosting a re-opening party to celebrate at 3pm SUNDAY 18th JUNE . There will be local specials, a bit of bubbly and nibbles and a fair bit of talking about clay. If you would like to attend, please RSVP below:

Tamborine Mountain Open Studios + Exhibition

tmac open studios poster

I am excited to announce I will be participating in a group exhibition at The Art Post, Main Street Tamborine Mountain with other local artists: Cassi Ashton Thomas, Lilly Piri, Susan Lhamo, Kate French-McLean and Emma Dusting.

My display will be my signature Steampunk style teapots with some sweet surprises that I’ve been working on recently. This exhibition of paintings, mixed media and ceramics will be rich with colour, forms and textures in a delightful new art space in the heart of town.

This is part of the Tamborine Mountain Arts Collective (TMAC) OPEN STUDIOS event. There is a wonderful line up of artists opening their studios so it’s well worth a visit to Tamborine Mountain on the Mothers’ Day weekend 13 and 14 May. Find out more information on the TMAC website and on the Art Post website

Sydney Teapot Show 2022

detail of a Jabberwocky teapot in Steampunk style by PJ Pottery

We love the Sydney Teapot Show! This year one of the categories was to create a teapot based on a nonsense poem so of course, I made a Jabberwocky holding a teapot inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem

I have put in an entry in each year for many years. There is usually a choice of themes to challenge potters to great heights of creativity. This is an amazing exhibition that potters and collectors around Australia look forward to each year.

If you are in Sydney around Saturday 17 September – Sunday 16 October 2022 call into the Kerrie Lowe Gallery in Newtown and view the amazing and diverse teapots from around Australia.
