Want to explore new techniques in pottery? Need to build your existing skills? Try one of my workshops!

Pop Up Pottery workshops are a range of one or two day intense masterclasses and courses. I come to you and your pottery group or organisation or you come to my studio on Tamborine Mountain. I have conducted these workshops for many years across NSW and Qld to individuals, schools and pottery groups. They can be tailored to suit your needs.

As a general rule, I offer a full day workshop for $700 plus travel and accommodation (if applicable) for a group with a  maximum of 12-15 students.

Nicci has an unusual method of creating mosaics – a design is created on paper and a template made to cut soft clay into tiles around the design. She decorates the tiles and, once fired and glazed, puts them together in place and glues onto a board, a concrete form or table top and then completes the final process of grouting. This is usually a two day hands-on workshop or one day demonstration only.

The next Clay Surface Workshop is being offered at the Gold Coast Potters Association 9-10 December book HERE

There are infinite ways to decorate the clay surface. It can be done when the clay is soft, leather hard or bone dry. It can be changed once a pot is bisque, it can be glazed and it can have decoration added after the glaze firing.
This workshop looks at various decoration methods to apply to clay from the raw surface to onglaze methods. Attendees bring along greenware to experiment on: with underglaze colours, water etching, tissue transfers, sgraffito and carving. We will make new pieces to play with surface treatments on leather hard clay like sprigging, stamping, inlay, applying slip and impressions with texture.
Many of these techniques are more successful with good planning, Bring along a visual art diary, it’s a valuable tool for creating, recording and planning.
Choose from a one or two day workshop.
