Mosaic and tile-making workshop

This workshop is your chance to create something unique such as feature bathroom tiles, a kitchen trivet or a table top. We will cover aspects of design for a specific purpose and how to decorate and finish your tiles or mosaic piece. You do not need any experience to attend. I provide all you will need to create your clay design. PLUS you get to take home a FREE trivet that you will create from premade tiles. 

If you are making a table top, bring an image of the table with you; for a feature tile block, please bring photos of the area and measurements. After you are booked in, I will email you with what you will need for the workshop.

Here are the details:

• over 2 Sundays –  8th and 22nd February
•  9am – 4pm first both days
• fee  $305 includes clay, firings, glazes, use of tools and equipment
• morning tea provided, BYO lunch

First Sunday

• draw up your design to scale, make templates and number them
• roll out slabs and cut  and decorate tiles
• cover tiles with boards to keep them flat and dry them slowly, ready for their first firing

Second Sunday

• hand paint or glaze your tiles
• demonstration on how to mount and grout your tiles

I will then fired your tiles and they will be ready for collection in 3-4 weeks.
