Marbled porcelain teapot
There is something luscious about porcelain, it’s smooth and silky and is whiter than any other clay. It’s tricky to thrown because it’s so fine, it gets the wobbles when it’s thin, but so worth the effort.
The marbled effect on this teapot is made by mixing coloured stain into the porcelain and then wedging it into the clay. The method is called agateware or the Japanese term is neriage.
